New Resources!

The Peacemaking Program is pleased to offer two new resources.

Proclaiming the Good News of God’s Peace is a daily Advent devotional featuring the writings of peacemakers across the United States and around God’s world.

Piece Work/ Piece Work/Peace Work: Working Together for Peace and Sudan is a curriculum designed for elementary children from Grades 1-6. This resource is produced in partnership with the Office of Child Advocacy, the Africa Office, the Sudan Mission Network and the Sudan Advocacy Action Forum.

Stopping torture - an Advent resource

The National Religious Coalition Against Torture announces a new resource PDF icon  for use during Advent 2009. With sections for all four Sundays in Advent, as well as Christmas Eve, the new resource PDF icon provides commentary on the scriptures and sermon notes that help connect the scriptures with today's national dialog on the use of torture. It combines scholarly research and exegesis of the lectionary readings with a conversational tone that makes it easy to build upon the ideas in developing sermons. The author is the Rev. Kirsten Klepfer, pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Grinnell, Iowa.

  • The church is faithful to Jesus Christ when it is engaged in peacemaking.
  • The church is obedient to Jesus Christ when it nurtures and equips God's people as peacemakers.
  • The church bears witness to Christ when it nurtures the moral life of the nation for the sake of peace in the world.

Our work

For more than twenty-five years, the Presbyterian Peacemaking Program has been helping the church grow in its witness and commitment to peacemaking.
