We all are one in mission
As Harry Drake, site supervisor, pulled into Hanover, he noticed a woman standing in the parking lot of the Hanover Freewill Baptist Church beside an overturned wheelbarrow. He stopped to talk with her and offer a hand.
Harry soon discovered that the woman was the pastor’s wife, and she and the pastor were mucking out the church alone. They had an older congregation, and besides their members had problems of their own. They had just put in new sheetrock as part of renovations, and the flood brought 4 feet of water inside the church. They were so discouraged.
Harry offered to let mission teams muck out and help them replace the flooring and sheetrock. In exchange, the church offered Harry a command post in the church, giving the mission teams a place with rest rooms, space for lunches, and they even brought food for the workers! Rodney, an Elder in the church, said that he KNOWS God sent Harry to drive by just when he did. And God has sent them hope again. Their doors are open to all who bring hands of healing to their community.
