LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The General Assembly Council (GAC) of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) will meet to discuss and vote upon several actions, including many related to its 2009 budget.

WHO: Members of the General Assembly Council and its Executive Committee.

WHAT: A series of meetings during the week of March 23-27.

WHEN: See the attached meeting schedule or download it online. Observers are welcome to attend most sessions. Three exceptions are anticipated for this series of meetings:

• Wednesday, 9:00-11:30 a.m. Personnel Committee meeting (closed)
• Thursday, 7:00-9:00 p.m. GAC plenary session (closed)
• Friday, 10:10-10:50 a.m. GAC plenary session (closed)

WHERE: Meetings will be held at the Brown Hotel, 335 West Broadway, Louisville, Ky.

UPDATES: Three media releases are planned during the week:

• Tuesday, March 24 — A release summarizing the budget strategy discussion of the General Assembly Council Executive Committee held 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in an open meeting.
• Wednesday, March 25 — A release distributed in early afternoon summarizing actions taken during the 9:00-11:30 a.m. closed meeting of the Personnel Committee.
• Friday, March 27 — A release distributed after 3 p.m. that outlines decisions and actions taken during the closed session on Friday morning.
