Prior to their assignment to Campinas, the Musicks taught at
Bible Institute of the North, where students were trained as evangelists
and missionaries. It is one of the few Protestant schools in Brazil
offering courses in sacred music. Both Frank and Elizabeth taught
music and other courses. As director of the school, Frank supervised
total renovation of the physical plant, and brought the school
up to full capacity. Elizabeth supervised the expansion of the
library and directed the choir.
During an earlier assignment the Musicks lived in Recife, the
large urban center on the northeast coast. They taught at the
Agnes Erskine Evangelical School during its transition to self-support.
The Musicks spent their first years in Brazil doing evangelistic
ministries in rural areas of central and southwestern Brazil.
Elizabeth has one daughter and two sons. Alice and her husband,
Jim McLean, live in Chicago; she teaches at the University of
Chicago and Jim works in advertising. Stan resides in Austin and
is employed by Dun & Bradstreet. Stephen is married and serves
in the U.S. Marine Corps, as does his wife, Nicole.
Elizabeth Musick was born in San Antonio, Texas. She majored
in music education at the University of Texas and taught music
in public schools in Austin, Texas, and in Maryland prior to missionary
