Liz retired in January 2004, but will be available for speaking when her schedule permits. To invite her to speak to your congregation, see her contact information on the Mission Speakers' page.

Elizabeth Musick has been under appointment as a mission co-worker of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) or its predecessor denominations since 1968. Until recently, she was accompanied in her various ministries by her husband, the Reverend Frank Musick, who died February 2, 2003

The time the Musicks relocated within Brazil was in 1990, when the moved to Campinas, Sáo Paulo, so that Frank could take over as mission treasurer and business manager of the field office, which provides support functions for PC(USA) mission in Brazil. Since Frank's death, Elizabeth has assumed his responsibilities. The office provides support services for Presbyterian missionaries, manages funds, arranges legal documents and visas, and oversees properties. Elizabeth also continues to be involved in sacred music with various groups and churches in the Campinas area.

Prior to their assignment to Campinas, the Musicks taught at Bible Institute of the North, where students were trained as evangelists and missionaries. It is one of the few Protestant schools in Brazil offering courses in sacred music. Both Frank and Elizabeth taught music and other courses. As director of the school, Frank supervised total renovation of the physical plant, and brought the school up to full capacity. Elizabeth supervised the expansion of the library and directed the choir.

During an earlier assignment the Musicks lived in Recife, the large urban center on the northeast coast. They taught at the Agnes Erskine Evangelical School during its transition to self-support.

The Musicks spent their first years in Brazil doing evangelistic ministries in rural areas of central and southwestern Brazil.

Elizabeth has one daughter and two sons. Alice and her husband, Jim McLean, live in Chicago; she teaches at the University of Chicago and Jim works in advertising. Stan resides in Austin and is employed by Dun & Bradstreet. Stephen is married and serves in the U.S. Marine Corps, as does his wife, Nicole.

Elizabeth Musick was born in San Antonio, Texas. She majored in music education at the University of Texas and taught music in public schools in Austin, Texas, and in Maryland prior to missionary appointment.

Birthday: August 4
